Types of Media
There are many types of media that you will be working with (and making using our protocols in the lab). Some of the media are LB media and ATCC974 media. Here is a link to introduce the other types of media:

Centrifuge
A centrifuge functions to separate liquids, solids and gases based on density. It does this by spinning at very high speed. This is a valuable tool in your experiments, but also an expensive tool, so you need to learn how to use this carefully: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhJNFGfsUus

Micropipette
This is also a very important tool to use because we work in very small amounts (primarily microliters), and with those small amounts we need to be very precise in our measurements in order to have successful outcomes in our experiments, i.e. PCR.

Other Lab Equipment
These are other pieces of equipment in the lab that do not need any explanation in terms of how to use them, but you will need to access them at some point in the lab.
These include:
Freezer boxes: where you will keep your samples if you work in the lab
Water Bath
Glassware and Stirrers; Spatulas
Gloves

These include:
- Incubator (37 degrees Celsius): this is outside the lab
- Cold Room (4 degrees Celsius): this is also found outside the lab
